The Ministry of Health and Population said on Sunday that 780 people die per hour, around the world due to lung cancer, heart disease and stroke resulting from air pollution.
In a post on 'Facebook', Health Ministry confirmed that climate change affects the possibility of safe access to food and clean drinking water as well as safe health free of diseases, noting that climate change is expected to cause about 250,000 deaths globally in the period from 2030 to 2050 each year, due to malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea and heat stress.
Moreover, the ministry added that exposure to air pollution and extreme heat increases the risk of death by 20%, noting that pollution causes harm to 99% of the planet’s population, stressing that the world deserves to breathe clean air.
