Egyptian legendary singer and actor Hany Shaker is all set up for his acting comeback after a 40-year hiatus. He was last seen on screen in the 1975 film "I Love This, I Want That".

In a recent interview with "Foochia", he recently disclosed details about his acting comeback.

"I hope in 2024 to return to acting again through the TV series scripted by screenwriter Ayman Salama, because I liked the topic," he said.

"I play a businessman, not a singer, but there will be musical numbers during the events. This is a very beautiful series, and I hope it will be made.”

Born on December 21, 1952, Shaker, also known as the Prince of the Arabic song, has a repertoire consisting of more than 461 songs and 29 albums.

The acclaimed singer made his music debut when he performed “Sora” with Abd El Halim Hafez Choral Group, then he starred in the film “Sayed Darwish” as the young Sayed Darwish.

He began his career at a very early age – learning the piano as a child when his mother took on the role of his agent.

Shaker started to study music at the prestigious Cairo Conservatoire in the early 1970s, after graduating from high school.

In 1972, he made his breakthrough while he was in his second year of college with the song “Heloua ya Dounia” (It’s a Wonderful Life), written by Mohammed El Mougi. The track showcased his talent, at that time when the biggest legends remained at their peak.

During the 1970s Hany presented two plays, "Cinderella" and "Egypt", and three romantic movies: "When Love Sings", "We Live for Love", and "I Love This and Want That."
