Sudan's Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok affirmed his government's commitment to working jointly with the armed groups to implement the peace agreement terms. Hamdok expressed the aspiration of Sudan's government and people to remove Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism in order to help Sudan integrate into the international economic system.
During his meeting with the US envoy to Sudan Donald Booth, Hamdok expressed his country's appreciation for the support of the Troika countries (the United Kingdom, United States, and Norway) to the peace process in Sudan, praising the large regional and international participation in the ceremony celebrating the final signing of the Sudan Peace Agreement in Juba.
Meanwhile, the American envoy congratulated the Sudanese Prime Minister for signing the peace agreement, stressing the keenness of the United States of America and the Troika to complete the peace process with the "Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North - led by Abdul Aziz Al Helw" and the "Sudan Liberation Army led by Abdul Wahid Noor."
In a statement, the Sudanese Cabinet stated that the meeting discussed bilateral relations between America and Sudan and efforts to enhance them. It also addressed the ongoing efforts to remove Sudan from the American list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
