Gold prices declined in the local markets by EGP 140 (6%) during July, while the ounce rose by 2%.
Saeed Imbaby, executive director of the “iSagha” platform for online gold and jewelry trade, said that gold prices decreased by EGP 5 in the local markets during the last week’s trading, as 21 carat recorded EGP 2155, while an ounce declined on the global stock exchange by $16, to record $ 1955.
He added that a gram of 24 karat gold recorded EGP 2463, a gram of 18 karat gold recorded EGP1847, a gram of 14 karat gold recorded EGP 1437, and a pound of gold recorded EGP 17240.
