The German Energy and Climate Ministry said Friday that the German economy is facing a severe energy crisis with the reduction of Russian gas supplies to Germany during the past week by 40 percent.
The ministry added that Germany and Europe face more than these risks, not only because of the decline in gas supplies alone but also because of the consequences of the war in Ukraine and the Corona pandemic, which has not gone forever.
The German ministry indicated that the reduction in supplies of natural gas, which included France and Italy, came after the Russian gas announced that it was unable to pump more gas at the capacity of the "Nord Stream 1" pipeline due to the failure of the German "Siemens" company to maintain essential gas turbines due to European sanctions against Russian companies.
