Lufthansa, the German airline, announced on Friday the resumption of its flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut after a suspension due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The German airline resumed its flights to Beirut on Friday after suspending them on October 13th.

The company, which also owns Austrian Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines, stated that "the airline group will offer a total of 20 weekly flights to and from Tel Aviv," according to France-Presse.

Lufthansa noted that the scheduled flights to Tel Aviv from January 8th would be equivalent to 30% of the usual schedule before the conflict.

The group had suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv due to the "security situation" in the region following the attack by Hamas on Israeli territories from Gaza on October 7th, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,139 people, mostly civilians, according to Israel.

Lufthansa stated on Friday that "security always takes top priority," and the group is closely monitoring the security situation in Israel.

Swiss International Air Lines, in a separate statement, announced the resumption of its flights to Beirut starting from Saturday.

Regarding flights to Tel Aviv, the airline explained that "after conducting a comprehensive assessment of the situation, the company believes that sufficient security guarantees have been provided to resume air service" from January 8th.
