Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) undertook a promotional tour to attract Dutch investments in the green hydrogen sector.
The CEO of the Authority participated in the World Hydrogen Summit held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, which is the most prominent event in the field of green energy on the European continent.
The attendees discussed ways to support the energy transition and maximize the role of governments, the private sector and financial institutions in achieving the goals of the global transition towards green energy.
Heiba participated in a discussion session entitled “Opportunities for cooperation in the field of green hydrogen between Egypt and the Netherlands,” and reviewed the opportunities for cooperation between Egypt and the Netherlands in the field of green hydrogen, stressing Egypt’s commitment to achieving its climate goals, most notably expanding adoption in this field.
He presented all the incentives established in Egypt for the green hydrogen sector, and also reviewed the appropriate investment systems for projects in this sector.
At the end of the tour, Heiba participated in the Egyptian-Dutch Business Forum, which was organized by the Egyptian Embassy in the Netherlands. During the forum, the Chairman of the Investment Authority held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of investment and financing bodies and major Dutch companies operating in the sectors of renewable energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and food industries, to discuss opportunities of investing in Egypt and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
