Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met earlier today Monday his American counterpart Donald Trump on the sidelines of G7 summit, in Biarritz, France.
El Sisi expressed happiness to meet his American counterpart, noting that Egypt and US enjoy a great mutual respect and appreciation.
He valued the deep strategic ties between Egypt, and US, stressing on Egypt’s keenness to develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
“Egypt presents a great performance under the distinguished leadership of El Sisi,” Trump said, hailing Egypt's success in implementing the economic reform program.
In addition, the US President praised Egypt’s efforts in fighting terrorism, and promoting the values of religious tolerance as well as, freedom of worship in Egypt.
“US is keen to increase the volume of trade exchange between both countries, as well as boosting joint investments,” he added.
Regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the American president stressed that reaching a comprehensive agreement between both sides is the only way out of this crisis.
Moreover, he noted that Iran is facing a hard economic situation as a result of the financial sanctions imposed on it.
“It is too early to talk about a meeting with Iranian foreign minister Mohamed Gawad Zarif,” he said. “Iran’s nuclear program must be dismantled.”
Concerning US-Japan relations, Trump said that US has signed an important deal with japan on the sidelines of G7 summit, confirming that America would not allow China to lead the global economy.
