The Financial Times (FT) reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to stop the agreement to transport millions of tons of grain through southern Ukraine will lead to a new jump in prices.

Experts have warned, and catastrophic consequences for the poorest countries in Africa, which are already facing severe food shortages.

Experts stressed that stopping this corridor for exporting grains may herald a global crisis, as happened in the past after the outbreak of the Ukrainian war, which multiple reports warned of.

Last November, a large number of experts and relief organizations warned of the repercussions of the decision to suspend the grain export agreement from Ukraine and said that this decision would lead to a rise in global food prices, and poor countries, especially in Africa, would be more affected.

Tens of millions of people in Africa face severe food shortages, with the majority of the world's 19 hunger hotspots located on the continent.
