On Tuesday, the French presidency announced that Paris will expel 12 staff members from the Embassy of Algeria to France, in addition to the Algerian consulate, confirming that France is aware of the Algerian authorities’ decision to expel diplomatic staff working at the French Embassy to Algeria.
The French presidency added that it is in the interest of both France and Algeria to resume dialogue, stressing that Algeria’s decision, which disregards fundamental judicial procedures, is unjustified and incomprehensible.
It also noted that France’s ambassador to Algeria will be summoned for consultations.
