Foreign Ministers of India and China Agree to Develop Partnership Between Countries

India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who arrived in New Delhi on a visit. The parties agreed to maintain the positive momentum in bilateral relations between the countries, according to Trinity Mirror, a partner of TV BRICS.

"As the two largest developing countries with a total population of more than 2.8 billion, China and India should demonstrate the feelings of the world, reflect the responsibility of major powers, set an example for the joint self-improvement of the largest developing countries, and contribute to promoting multi-polarisation of the world and democratisation of international relations" Yi said.

The Head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also recalled that this year Beijing and New Delhi are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. According to Wang Yi, China and India should deepen cooperation and remove barriers, ensuring stability in Asia and around the world.

In turn, Jaishankar stressed that Beijing and New Delhi should jointly ensure the stability of the global economy. He confirmed India's readiness to use the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in the trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

"India fully supports China in successfully hosting the SCO Tianjin Summit and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in multilateral mechanisms such as BRICS " Jaishankar said 

The parties recalled that in October 2024, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a successful meeting at the BRICS summit in Kazan.
