FM: There is international Consensus on Continuing Negotiations on GERD

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that there is an international consensus to continue negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) file, according to Sky News Arabia.

The foreign minister indicated that the United States realizes the importance of Egypt's water security and is ready to exert all efforts to support it.

Shoukry discussed over the phone today, Wednesday, during his current visit to Washington, with US Senator Chris Van Hollen, the overall situation at the regional and international levels.

Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said -  on Twitter - that the two sides exchanged views on a number of issues.
