Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, made a phone call today, Saturday, with Ronald Lamola, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Africa, as they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields.
During the call, Minister Abdel Atty stressed the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and South Africa, and they reviewed ways to enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation between Egypt and South Africa, and follow up on the implementation of the outcomes of the tenth session of the joint committee.
The two ministers discussed regional developments of mutual interest, especially developments in the Gaza Strip and the escalation in the eastern Congo region.
They also discussed ways to support regional integration and South-South cooperation, stressing the importance of continuous coordination between the two countries in international forums on issues of security and stability in the continent, especially in light of The challenges facing the African continent, in addition to exchanging support for the two countries’ nominations for international positions in the interest of the African continent.
