FM Highlights Impact of Climate Change on Lives of Millions of people

Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry, president-designate of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), highlighted the impact of climate change on the lives of millions of people. 

Addressing the opening ceremony of the COP27 conference, Shoukry stressed the need to deal with climate change collectively to face challenges and preserve the climate for future generations.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt hosts the COP-27 summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, from November 6-18, which is considered the largest and most important summit in the world, to discuss the fate of the planet and save it from deterioration and collapse of the devastating repercussions of climate change, and contribute to saving humanity.

COP27 is witnessing wide international participation from different parts of the world, with the participation of more than 120 state leaders, and representatives from about 197 countries, and nearly 40,000 participants from around the world, as well as dozens of international and regional organizations, to take part in the annual negotiations on climate change. 

The summit also enjoys extensive global media coverage with the presence of more than 3,000 media professionals who cover the activities of the summit in different languages.
