FM, Borrell Discuss Ongoing Escalation Btw Palestinians, Israelis

Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry began this morning, Saturday, to conduct intensive contacts with his counterparts and a number of international officials to work to stop the ongoing escalation between Palestinians and Israelis.

In this context, Shoukry made a phone call with Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to discuss the dangerous developments on the Palestinian/Israeli level since Friday evening.

Moreover, FM stressed the importance of stopping the ongoing escalation and exercising restraint on all sides, as it poses serious risks.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid said that Egypt is making intensive contacts at all levels to contain the current crisis, revealing that the contacts conducted by Shoukry, in this regard, are focused on influential international parties, to ensure unified and consistent efforts, and spare the region from further factors of tension and instability.
