Badr Abdel Atty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, participated in the preparatory ministerial meeting for the upcoming Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit set to take place tomorrow in Riyadh.

In his remarks, Abdel Atty highlighted several key points, foremost of which was the condemnation of Israel's ongoing aggression in Gaza, which has persisted for over a year amidst unacceptable international silence. He also condemned continued attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, stressing the need for an immediate halt to such actions.

Abdel Atty outlined Egypt’s efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and to ensure the full, unconditional delivery of aid to the region, emphasizing that no state should be above the law or immune from accountability.

FM also condemned Israeli actions against UNRWA and attacks on UNIFIL forces, characterizing these as blatant violations of international law and international humanitarian law, amidst a lack of action from the UN Security Council.

He further denounced aggression against Lebanon, stressing the importance of an immediate ceasefire, implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701, and the empowerment of Lebanese state institutions, particularly the Lebanese army, as well as the need for Lebanon to elect a consensus president free from external influence.

Abdel Atty affirmed that arrogance and illusions of power will not achieve peace and security for any state or the region at large.

He emphasized that the only path to peace is through the Palestinian people attaining their full and legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on its entire national territory, based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
