Local authorities in Sichuan Province, southwest China, announced that more than thirty people are missing after flash floods hit the village of "Xinhua" in the province on Saturday morning.
Floods resulting from heavy rains caused the destruction of more than 40 homes in the village located in Hanyuan County in the city of "Ya'an", The Chinese news agency "Xinhua" reported.
The governorate's Emergency Management Office stated that the disaster also caused the disruption of roads, bridges and communications, amid expectations of more rain until tomorrow (Sunday).
For its part, the northeastern city of Shenyang in Liaoning Province issued a red level warning of heavy rain, the highest level in the four-level system.
