The United Arab Emirates (UAE)'s Ministry of Health has announced on Monday the recovery of five patients from Covid-19 coronavirus.
The recovered patients include two Emiratis, two Ethiopians and one Thai national.
This brings the total number of fully recovered cases in UAE to 12.
Earlier today, UEA has confirmed the detection of new 14 coronavirus-diagnosed cases, rising the total infected cases to 59, according to the state’s health ministry.
In a statement, the ministry said the cases include four Emiratis, three Italians, two Bangladeshis, two Nepalese, a Russian, an Indian and a Syrian national.
It added that the recent cases were discovered with the framework of the UAE’s active follow-up to examine those who came in contact with previously confirmed infected inpiduals who were quarantined.
It is worth mentioning that, the UAE announced the first case of the coronavirus in January in members of a family, coming from the Chinese city of Wuhan, according to the state official news agency “WAM”.
The transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
The World Health Organization WHO has warned that world countries should do more and prepare for a possible pandemic because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
In an official statement, WHO said that it is too early to announce a pandemic now, but the countries should be in a “phase of preparedness”.
“The epidemic will be declared when the infectious disease is easily transmitted from person to person in many parts of the world,” the statement read.
More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.
