The first look at renowned Egyptian actor Akram Hosny's latest film "El Ameel Sefr" (Agent Zero) has been unveiled.

The film is written by Wael Abdullah and based on an idea by Hosny and Mohamed Sami, who also initially set to serve as its director.

Hosny began shooting the pic in 2020. He was collaborating with the director Mohamed Sami and actress Nelly Karim before the project stopped.

The shooting resumed after some changes were added to the script, the cast, and the team behind the film. Asma Abulyazeid has joined the cast as the lead actress and Karim Al-Adl as director.

The cast also includes Munther Rayahneh, Moustafa Gharieb, Bayoumi Fouad, Phaedra, Ismail Farghali, Ayman El Shewy, and Ayman Tema.

The film also features Fatima Al-Banawi making her Egyptian feature film debut.

“El Ameel Sefr” revolves around a security guard who dreams of living a life of action and intrigue much like James Bond and constantly throws himself in harm’s way in an attempt to achieve that end.

The footage briefly outlines the protagonist’s backstory before jump-cutting to him assuming the mantle of Agent Zero on a mission.

Viewers can then see Agent Zero in the field as he attempts to demonstrate his superior abilities before being comically punched in the face.

Soon after, he provides a funny response to a question that has been circulating online for the last several months: "What would you do if you saw a shark?".

While the teaser does briefly go over Agent Zero’s backstory and mission, it still raises a lot of questions about how someone as clumsy as the protagonist eventually finds himself at the center of a plot chock-full of action, espionage, and perilous danger.

“El Ameel Sefr” is produced by Oscar Production and Distribution company, with Loay Abdullah (Oscar Pictures) handling production.

The film premieres in theatres on August 16.
