Production has begun on Egyptian actress Mona Zaki's new film “Cairo-Mecca”.
The film is written by Mohamed Ragaa and directed by Hani Khalifa.
“Cairo-Mecca” is produced by Film Clinic, Lagoonie Film Production, The Producers, and Arabia Pictures.
It also stars Shereen Reda, Mohamed Mamdouh, Khaled El Sawy, Mohamed Farag, Mohamed Alaa, and others.
The plot centers around a woman, who made bad deeds in her life, embarks on a trip to Mecca to perform Hajj and repent for what she committed, forcing her to reconnect with people from her old life.

The actress is currently busy shooting her new film, which is produced under the working title of “Al Gawahergy”.
The film is reuniting her with prominent actor Mohamed Henedy after 23 years of shooting the 1998 film “Saidi at the American University”.
It also stars Lebleba, Reem Moustafa, Ahmed Halawa, Arefa Abdul Rasoul, Tara Emad, and others.
The film is written by Omar Taher and directed by Islam Khairy.

On the other hand, Zaki is planning to participate in the Ramadan 2022 drama marathon with an untitled TV series that will be penned by prominent screenwriter Mariam Naoum’s workshop.
Zaki participated last Ramadan with the TV series “Lebat Newton”, which achieved great success during its premiere.
It also starred Mohamed Farag, Mohamed Mamdouh, Sayed Ragab, Mohamed El-Tajy, Mayan El-Sayed, Hanan Youssef, and others.
