A first look at the long-awaited star-studded film “Ahl al-Kahf” has finally been revealed.

The film features an ensemble cast that includes Khaled El Nabawy, Ghada Adel, Mahmoud Hamida, Mustafa Fahmy, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Abdel Rahman Abou Zahra, Reem Moustafa, Mohamed Farag, Amr Abdel Gelil,  Sabry Fawaz,  Hager Ahmed, Maged El Masry, and more.

It is based on Tawfik el-Hakim’s play of the same title and is adapted by Ayman Bahgat Kamar and directed by Amr Arafa.

“Ahl al-Kahf” takes place in 250 AD and is shot in three countries: Ireland, Morocco, and Egypt.

The plot revolves around the human struggle against time that struggle is represented by three people who wake after sleeping for over three centuries to find themselves in a different era than the one they previously lived.

The film also depicts interesting historical tales such as the great conflicts between Adel’s character and El Nabawy, as she stands against the king (Fahmy) against him.

The project is considered one of the largest productions in Egyptian cinema, given the cast participating in the pic and the use of the entire action team from London to design the stunts and fight scenes.

“Ahl al-Kahf” is set to release in theaters in the summer of 2024.
