Figo: Egypt's Exit from AFCON Was Unexpected

Portuguese Legend Luis Figo declared that Egypt's early exit from this year's African Cup of Nations was totally unexpected.

Figo said these remarks when he was a guest analyst at Time Sports channel during the Nigeria vs South Africa match. Egypt exited the tournament from the knockout stages with a 1-0 loss against South Africa, with a late goal in the final minutes.

The Real Madrid and Barcelona legendary winger also stated: "Egypt always shows its ability to organize such grand tournaments, and the most important thing is that it continues to develop."

He added, "This is my third visit to Egypt. The first was when I played against El Ahly in 2001, then I came 3 years ago to attend the CAF conference, and now I'm here for the African Nations Cup."
