the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) officially agreed, Saturday, to test the new offside law, before it is fully applied in all matches and tournaments.
The new offside law states that the attacker must be ahead with his entire body over the last defender to be in an offside position, and not just a part of his body, as it is in the case at the present time.
FIFA added that the new law will be tested in some matches in Sweden, the Netherlands and Italy before applying it in all tournaments, if successful.
It was Arsene Wenger, French former football manager and player who is currently serving as FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development, who proposed applying the new offside rule.
