The Director of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Anthony Fauci, announced today, Monday, that the spread of the Coronavirus in the United States of America will decrease when 75% to 80% of community members are vaccinated.
Fauci considered that mid-January, after the holiday season, will be one of the difficult months for the spread of pandemic infection in the country.
According to the "Word Meter" website that monitors the developments of the pandemic, the total number of Coronavirus infections in the United States amounted to 15,1 million people and the total deaths amounted to 289 thousand cases but 8,8 million people recovered.
Earlier, Fauci warned of a "big spike" in the spread of the Coronavirus in the country, with millions of travelers returning home after the Thanksgiving holiday.
He stressed the need for Americans to prepare for this "challenge."
He warned that is almost certain that there will be an increase in the number of Coronavirus infections due to travel-related matters".
Speaking to the "State of the Union" program on "CNN", he stressed that the Americans may witness a big surge in cases within two or three weeks.
He continued to say that the "authorities do not want to intimidate people, but this is the reality."
