Fatah spokesman Maher Al-Namoura said Israel is facing growing international isolation as more countries move to recognize the State of Palestine, including major powers such as France and the United Kingdom.
In a telveised interview, Al-Namoura described the British decision as “a major shift in international positions,” noting that London, once among Israel’s earliest supporters and the issuer of the 1917 Balfour Declaration, has now taken a historic step more than eight decades later.
He added that the move was not only political but also reflected strong public pressure within the UK. “The massive demonstrations that swept across Britain in support of the Palestinian people and against the war on Gaza had a direct impact on this decision,” he said.
Al-Namoura stressed that such developments represent a significant moment for the Palestinian cause and signal a deepening global shift in attitudes toward the conflict.
