Farouk Hosny Foundation on Culture and Arts board of trustees held an important meeting at the headquarters of the foundation in Al Zamalek, Cairo, the cultural foundation said in a statement released on Saturday.
The meeting discussed the plan, the direction, the results of the latest surveys submitted by the promising artists, and their recommendations for improving the competitions.
After the meeting, the members of the board of trustees agreed upon dedicating all the foundation's activities to support and back talented and creative artists, in addition to enhancing their spirit in creativity, arts, and culture.
The board of trustees also thanked all jury members who participated in the previous editions.
During the meeting, the foundation made new decisions for supporting the artists who will participate in the upcoming editions. One of the approved decision is increasing the age of the participants to 40.
Another approved decision is re-forming the juries and set recognizing regulations for every competition.
Increasing the prize of the foundation's awards value to EGP 1 million.
The members also considered increasing the number of its events and activities to create more space for young artists.
The meeting was attended by the iconic artist Farouk Honsy, renowned businessman Naguib Sawiris, veteran thinker and author Dr. Mostafa El Feki, the former advisor of the prime minister Tamer Ouf, the former dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts - Petra University Dr. Aleya Abdel Hady, law professer at the University of Bani Suef Dr. Hossam Lotfi, poet and author Wael El Semary, the deputy head of culture and arts city Ehab El Labban, Enass Loka, and Ahmed El Dabaa.
