On Monday, the Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts announced the sixth edition of the Farouk Hosny Art Awards for 2025.
2141 artworks were submitted, spanning five categories: Painting, Architecture, Sculpture, Art Criticism, and Photography.
The number of participants is 1133 artists, architects, and critics nationwide.
The total value of the awards is EGP 1 million, in addition to the prestigious Grand Merit Award.
The Board of Trustees, along with artist Farouk Hosny, extended their gratitude to the members of the judging committees for their active participation and outstanding efforts in achieving the foundation's goals.
They also wished all participants success, creativity, and excellence.
Regarding the details of each category of the foundation's art awards, it is as follows:
Painting Award:
The number of submitted artworks is 1041 artworks by 518 contestants.
The total value of the award is EGP 150,000:
First Prize: EGP 75,000 and an honorary shield
Second Prize: EGP 50,000
Third Prize: EGP 25,000
Architecture Award
39 projects were submitted by 77 participants.
The total value of the award is EGP 150,000:
First Prize: EGP 75,000 and an honorary shield
Second Prize: EGP 50,000
Third Prize: EGP 25,000
Sculpture Award
315 works were submitted by 236 artists.
The total value of the award is EGP 150,000:
First Prize: EGP 75,000 and an honorary shield
Second Prize: EGP 50,000
Third Prize: EGP 25,000
Art Criticism Award
18 studies were submitted by 18 participants
The total value of the award is EGP 100,000:
First Prize: EGP 50,000 and an honorary shield
Second Prize: EGP 30,000
Third Prize: EGP 20,000
Photography Award
728 artworks were submitted by 284 participants.
The total value of the award is EGP 150,000:
First Prize: EGP 75,000 and an honorary shield
Second Prize: EGP 50,000
Third Prize: 25,000 EGP
The names of the winners will be announced during the award ceremony for the sixth edition, which will include the opening of the group exhibition.
The exhibition will showcase the works of the participants who qualified for the final stage.
The event is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and will take place at the Gezira Art Center.
