Museum of Fine Arts in Alexandria Organizes Cultural Forum

The Museum of Fine Arts in Alexandria, affiliated to the Fine Arts Sector in the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Abu Simbel 50 Campaign, is going to organize a cultural forum under the title "Ahmed Othman. a Genius artist and the Story of Saving an Antiquity, on Friday and Saturday 13 and 14 November.

The forum comes on the day of commemorating Othman on the 50th anniversary of his death.

Farouk Hosni Foundation for Culture and Arts (FHFCA) will sponsor the upcoming forum.

Museum officials said in a statement that tales and anecdotes about the genius rescue operation led by Othman were one of the most important archaeological rescue operations in history.

Experts and contemporaries narrate the event, and stories about the owner of the idea and told by his contemporaries, including Hussein Bikar, who reveals how Abu Simbel portrayed in his paintings, Aziz Al-Shawwan the musician, who composed the great and the eternal music track of "Abu Simbel."

The statement added that all the stories are told by their students and their contemporaries, with an exclusive presentation of Othman's works, rare pages from the municipality library archive in Alexandria that have not been opened before.
