Facebook decided to ban the Chinese giant "Huawei" from using the company's applications on their smartphones.
The decision of the American social networking service is considered the latest blow for the Chinese technology company. Huawei, which is struggling to maintain its business in the face of the trade embargo, are prevented from buying US spare parts and software.
Facebook said that the customers, who already have Huawei phones will still be able to use their applications and updates. However, new ones will not be able to install Facebook, WhatsApp, or Instagram.
Ahead of distribution, smartphone makers often enter into business deals with huge social networking platforms to install applications such as Facebook messenger on their phones.
Huawei offers its phones, in many markets around the world, containing Facebook and other applications such as Twitter and Booking.
Twitter refused to comment on what would have been a similar step, while booking did not respond, and Huawei also ignored the latest embargo.
The ban is expected to reduce the sales of Huawei, whose smartphones were the biggest source of revenue last year. Google had earlier decided to stop providing Huawei phones with Android applications.
The decision will be implemented after the 90 days deadline set by the US government. While Google's decision will not apply to phones currently on the market or that have not been shipped, yet, the Facebook ban will be applied to any phone as long as it has not yet left the factory.
Nevertheless, Huawei's customer will be able to buy Facebook applications from Google's Play Store. However, Play Store won't be available if the Google ban continues.
