A group of international experts revealed in an article that giving the majority of people booster COVID-19 vaccine shots is not a must currently, RT reported on Wednesday.
Published in Lancet magazine, the experts highlighted that the protection of the vaccines against the virus' simple symptoms could be decreased by time, however, it can be effective in restricting death's risks.
They added that the ordinary shots of the vaccine are safe and effective, in addition, current data showed that giving the majority of people extra or booster vaccine shots could be risky at this phase of the pandemic's progression. However, scientists highlighted that people would need those extra shots later.
Moreover, giving those shots inappropriately would leave serious side impacts on heart, and blood.
Finally, they concluded their article by asserting that booster vaccine doses could be applicable to some people such as old aged whose levels of protection become weaker.
In the same context, "The US Centers for Disease Control and Pervention highlighted that old aged people have the same level of protections provided by vaccines, compared to younger people.
The study added that the impact of the vaccine in reducing risks of hospitalization by COVID-19 is 75% for older people, compared to 90% for people who aged below 75 years old."
