Euronews announced its apology for characterizing terrorist Hisham El-Ashmawi as a leading opponent in a report published earlier on its official platform.
This came after a great deal of discontent among users of social networking sites.
El-Ashmawy was involved in the assassination of top prosecutor Hisham Barakat and other attacks including Al-Wahat terror assault, which lead to the death of 16 Egyptian security personnel.

The Libyan National Army handed over on Tuesday terrorist Hisham El-Ashmawy to Egyptian forces following the visit of the Director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate (GIS) Abbas Kamel to Libya.
