The European Union has called on Israel to respect its responsibilities toward Palestinians in Gaza, amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
In a statement, the EU emphasized the need for Israel to comply with international law and ensure the protection and well-being of civilians in Gaza. The bloc reiterated that Israel, as the occupying power, bears legal and moral obligations toward the Palestinian population under international humanitarian law.
The EU’s call comes amid growing international concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, where access to basic necessities such as food, water, and medical supplies remains severely limited.
European officials have repeatedly stressed the importance of facilitating humanitarian aid and ensuring the protection of civilians, urging all parties to exercise restraint and work toward de-escalation.
