Earlier, Ambrey, a British maritime security firm, disclosed that twenty armed individuals boarded a cargo ship off the coast of Somalia and took control. This incident marks the latest in a series of ship-targeting incidents following the resurgence of Somali pirates' attacks in recent months. However, Ambrey did not specifically identify the attackers as Somali pirates.
Ambrey further reported that the seized vessel is a bulk cargo carrier flying the flag of Bangladesh, en route from Mozambique to the United Arab Emirates.
