European aviation authorities announced on Thursday an extension of their advisory urging airlines to avoid Iranian airspace until March 31, as part of ongoing measures to ensure flight safety.

The decision follows continued security assessments of the situation in and around Iran, with authorities citing persistent risks that could pose a threat to civilian aviation. Airlines operating in Europe have once again been advised to reroute flights away from Iranian airspace as a precautionary step.

Officials stressed that the advisory is purely safety-driven, aimed at protecting passengers, flight crews, and aircraft. The situation will remain under constant review, and further measures may be introduced if security conditions change.

The advisory has been issued in coordination with European Union Aviation Safety Agency, which regularly monitors geopolitical developments that may affect civil aviation across the region.

European authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining the highest aviation safety standards, noting that airspace risk evaluations are continuously updated in line with regional security developments.
