EU Delegation Visits NMEC

EU Envoy for Middle East Peace Process Sven Koopmans, Deputy Ambassador of the EU in Cairo Tobias Krause and their accompanying delegation visited National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).

The EU delegation was welcomed by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Museum Authority, who gave them an overview about the unique location of the museum, its history as well as its cultural and societal role.

Accompanied by Expert Mohamed Mokhtar, the visitors toured the Central Exhibition Halls, Egyptian Textiles Hall, and the Royal Mummies Hall.

Moreover, Mokhtar gave them a detailed explanation of the museum's history and its unique archaeological holdings that narrate the history of Egyptian civilization throughout the ages.

Krause was keen to write a word in the museum's visit book, during which he expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and his fascination with the ancient Egyptian civilization.
