The European Commission has announced an additional €30 million in humanitarian aid to Lebanon, bringing the total assistance provided by the EU to over €104 million for this year.
This follows a previous €10 million allocated in late September to address the country's worsening humanitarian situation.
The new aid package aims to support Lebanon in providing essential services, including food, shelter, healthcare, and other critical needs, in response to the ongoing economic and political crises.
The funds are intended to help vulnerable communities, including both Lebanese citizens and refugees living in the country.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that this new funding would ensure much-needed assistance to those facing significant hardships in Lebanon.
