Egyptian Premier League side Ettihad have decided to suspend team captain, Nour El-Sayed, until the end of the season.

The Alexandria based club are having one of their best seasons in recent years as they are currently plased fifth on the league table, 11 points away from the top four.

They’re also on the verge of having their most successful season in terms of points in the past four years, under the guidance of experienced manager Talat Youssef.

However, it is reported that Youssef and El-Sayed got into a quarrel after the former discovered that his skipper was badmouthing him in front of his teammates.

As a result he was given a suspension until the end of the season with a 5% reduction in his salary.

“The Ettihad board, led by Mohamed Mesilhy, has decided to approve of Talaat Youssef’s decision to suspend first team player Nour El-Sayed until the end of the season,” the club revealed in an official statement.

“It was also decided that there will be a 5% reduction in his salary. However, the board along with Talaat Youssef have decided to keep the official reason confidential as to protect the player and keep the squad’s unity.
