The Egyptian-Russian foundation for culture and science (ERFCS) has published a book entitled “From Akhenaten to Prophet Mousa…Ancient Egypt and Religious Change” by the prominent Egyptologist Yan Asman.
The book is translated by Waheed Shoaib, Professor of archaeology, Egypt history, and ancient near east at the faculty of Arts, Damietta university.
The book deals with the definition, identity, and thought of the ancient Egyptian religion and its specific features, within the framework of a general definition for the ancient Egyptian religion.
It includes some of the religious quotes said by King Akhenaten to the god Aten, the events mentioned in the Torah about the departure of the Jews from Egypt, the fundamental idea of religious transformations through different historical times, and the religious revolution in the era of Akhenaten.
It also addresses the history from Akhenaten and Prophet Mousa, peace be upon him.
Dr. Hussein Shafei, head of the ERFCS said that this book is considered one of the most important works dealing with religious changes and developments in Egypt, especially during the Amarna period, and the actions carried out by King Akhenaten, as well as the era of Prophet Mousa, peace be upon him.
On his part, Shoaib said that this book has a great scientific position, as it is written by Yan Asman, who is known for the uniqueness of his scientific and intellectual capabilities as well as his distinct works.
Through his book, Asman presented the history of human thought and the role of ancient Egypt in a number of fundamental matters as well as the role of the Egyptian leadership in culture and religion leading to interpretation and sanctification.
