Engineering Ind.: Solar Energy Augments Exports of Egypt’s Aluminium Factories

Eng. Khalid El Feqi, Head of the General Syndicate of Engineering and Metal Industries, revealed the trend of the green economy that participates in supporting aluminum factories in Upper Egypt, especially the whole world heads for using renewable and clean energies.

Al-Feqi added allowing Najae Hammadi factory for Aluminum to use the solar energy slashes cost of production by 30% to 40% as that energy is available either through establishing a solar plant to supply the factory or through Beban Solar Park in Aswan Governorate.

It is noteworthy that Aswan neighboring Sohag Governorate where Najae Hammadi Factory. The factory can expand and solve problems linked to the rising cost of electricity.

Al Feqi added that the aluminum industry is a strategic industry that brings hard currency to Egypt because the annual exports of Najae Hammdi factory reach $ 700 million.

This factory provides aluminum to the local market in addition to exporting to foreign countries. Other factories abroad get energy 50% lesser than the factory on Najae Hammadi.
