What happened yesterday comes under the title of “Egypt is capable”. Mahmoudiyah Canal Road Axis Development Project inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is not just a new urban axis to human civilization, but it is a new lesson in self-confidence and a warning bell for every aggressor entitled "Egypt is capable."

Yes, we can confront any challenge in the internal or external direction, since we have the ability to accomplish any achievement. We also have the ability to stop any encroachment and consider any encroachment on agricultural land as a crime, but rather a murder.

The president’s message in this regard was strong, firm and clear, that it is represented an assignment to officials, a challenge to the violators, and a test to the government" ... to stop the infringements!

President Sisi expressed appreciation for the ability of the state and the engineering authority to monitor the volume of violations that have occurred and are occurring in all over Egypt with modern technology, per day and per hour, during the past ten years since January 2011.

President Sisi commented: “Many citizens are saddened by the state’s measures to regulate the issue of building violations including construction on agricultural lands and unlicensed construction,”

The head of state also warned that proceeding with such violations would destroy the Egyptian state, warning of underestimating the issue of encroachment on agricultural lands and unplanned construction, saying that this matter is not less dangerous than the Ethiopian dam issue.

He affirmed the state’s role in preventing the encroachment on agricultural land and axes; it reminds me when I had the honor to warn of the danger of encroachment on agricultural lands, in an investigating campaign in Al Akhbar newspaper in 2004 as I knew about attempts to amend laws that prohibit encroachment on agricultural lands.

I also noticed that there are draft laws submitted to Parliament to allow building on them, so I launched this campaign and pointed out to the volume of the encroachments and construction that turned our green fields into cement blocks.

Great geologist Farouk El-Baz participated in his campaign, warning that the agricultural area in Egypt will disappear within 150 years, if the encroachment continues with this great rate!

The agricultural land is sacred and cannot be compensated. The famous Greek historian Herodotus acknowledged its importance when he said that Egypt is the gift of the Nile, as Egypt was the first stable society depending on agriculture and the manufacture of agricultural products.

Unfortunately, in 2004 - laws and decisions were largely circumvented, and the infringement continued  to erode large part of the agricultural land !

The president believe in the capabilities of this state and the ability of the Egyptians to achieve and rebuild, and their ability to make use of technology to uncover infringements per hour.

He said: “If the Prime Minister said that state services cover 99% of the population of Egypt - and he is right - but services will not reach 100% of the population because there are small spots and gatherings that were illegally built on the agricultural land.”

We should support our leadership and wise government in confronting the black propaganda and consider encroachment on agricultural land a crime of murder, and the solution is: To be or not to be ?!
