The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced on Monday that the country will experience a rise in the temperature.

Egypt will be affected by the rise in temperature from Wednesday, June 7 to Friday, June 9.

The EMA also predicts an increase in temperature on Thursday, where Cairo will record highs of 39°C and the south of the country of 45°C.

Sand and dust activity is also expected in most parts of the country with chances of light rain, which may be thundery at times.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), heat waves or heat and hot weather that can last for several days can have a significant impact on society, including a rise in heat-related deaths.

Heat waves are considered one of the most dangerous natural hazards for human beings but rarely receive adequate attention because their death tolls and destruction are not always immediately obvious.

Future projections indicate that extended and extreme heat waves will occur more frequently in the upcoming years. Heat waves can have various societal impacts by heavily burdening healthcare systems as well as energy and water sources.

Globally, the number of people exposed to heat waves has been exponentially increasing over the last few decades, thus increasing heat-related health complications and deaths.
