Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, praised Egypt international Mohamed Elneny following his performance in their Premier League opener against Fulham.

The Gunners dominated the game and managed to convincingly beat their opponents 3-0, thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Aubameyang, and Gabriel Magalhães.

Elneny continued his brilliant form during his first Premier League minutes in over a year as he made two key contributions to two of his side’s goals.

Arteta made sure to applaud his player’s mentality as well as his performances following the encounter.

Mo Elneny I think he was brilliant today again. All the boys they try really hard and the ones that came on have to push these guys again and we’ll keep going,” Arteta said in a post-match interview.

“Mo has been excellent since day one in training, he’s a player that I know really well because we played together as well.

“I know what he can give us and how willing he is to improve and I think today he was phenomenal,” he added.

Elneny was expected to leave the Gunners since his return from his loan spell with Besiktas as he was originally not among Mikel Arteta’s plans for the new season.
