El-Khatib Salutes Al-Sheikh on Al Hilal's FIFA Club World Cup Qualification

Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib has congratulated the former Pyramids FC owner Turki Al-Sheikh on Al Hilal's FIFA Club World Cup Qualification.

Earlier, Saudi’s Al Hilal booked the final place at the FIFA Club World Cup after lifting the AFC Champions League title.

The Saudi’s side thrashed Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds with three unanswered goals on aggregate to claim the title for the third time in their history.

"I have received Congratulations from Al Alhy President Mahmoud El-Khatib on Al-Hilal qualification to the FIFA Club World Cup after AFC Champions League claim," Al-Sheikh said on his official Facebook page.

"I wish Al Ahly the same success,"  the Ex-honorary President of Al-Ahly added.

On November, 4, the Saudi General Entertainment Authority chairman hailed his relationship with Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib after visiting him in Cairo.

After visiting El-Khatib on Monday, November 4,  Al-Sheikh posted some photos of him alongside El-Khatib on his official Facebook page, captioning, ” During my visit to my older brother captain Mahmoud El-Khatib. I had the honor to meet your family and ate the best food in the world.”

On August 2,  the Saudi General Entertainment Authority chairman finished a purchase deal for the Spanish club UD Almeria.

The Spanish side posted a photo on their official Twitter page saying that Al-Sheikh has become their new owner without giving any further information.

The Ex-honorary President of Al-Ahly club sold Pyramids FC to Emirati investor Salem Al-Shamsi on Friday, June 5.

The Saudi General Entertainment Authority chairman bought the Egyptian side Assiouty Sport in June 2018, renaming it to Pyramids FC.

Pyramids finished third in the Egyptian Premier League with 70 points after delivering an impressive season under the ownership of Al- Sheikh. The club managed to beat the league’s winner Al-Ahly and the runner-up Zamalek during the last season.
