The El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) unveiled on Monday its official poster for the 6th edition.

The artwork captures the essence of "Cinema for Humanity" — the festival's permanent slogan — and draws inspiration from the renowned plaza arches.

The visual features intricately weave the arches into a top-down view resembling a ship that becomes the vessel through which the concept of humanity is carried to all corners of the world.

At its heart, anonymous illustrated faces in symbolism to the rich fabric of human experiences and perspectives. Against the backdrop of El Gouna's tranquil sea, the arches stand as a testament to the festival's commitment to showcasing the diversity of life itself.

It also adapts to the festival brand colors and gradients, a reflection of our unwavering dedication to inclusivity and the transformative power of cinema.

GFF is scheduled to take place from October 13 to 20 at El Gouna Resort-town in the Red Sea governorate.

Meanwhile, the activities of the CineGouna Platform will take place October 15 to 19.

The festival, one of the leading film festivals in the MENA region, was launched in 2017. The event was founded by Engineer Naguib Sawiris, in collaboration with actress and producer Bushra Rozza; CEO of I-Events Amr Mansi, and film producer Kamal Zadeh.

The GFF team is helmed by festival director Intishal Al Timimi, who brings to the festival his knowledge and understanding of the regional and international cinematic landscape.

The initiative gained strength and momentum with the support of El Gouna founder Engineer Samih Sawiris and Orascom Development.

The festival began as a project of passion for art, culture, and most importantly filmmaking. Each edition has become a personal milestone for filmmakers across the region. For six years running, GFF has been paving the road to all keen filmmakers, aspiring young talents, and enthusiastic cinephiles that may partake in its culture of nurturing dreams and turning visions into reality.
