Medical License Department of the Ministry of Health and Population announced the removal of Dr. Hatem Roshdy and Dr. Ahmed El-Ezaby, from pharmacists’ records at the Ministry of Health.
Medical License Department said, in its letter to Pharmacists Syndicate, that the rest of the pharmacists, named in the ruling issued in case No. 5213, were suspended.
Noteworthy, both El - Ezaby and Roshdy have well-known pharmacies in Cairo and the other governorates.
Despite the decision of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed El-Ezaby, the owner of «El-Ezaby» pharmacies chain, said that his pharmacies will continue to provide services to the citizens.
In a statement to El Hekaya program broadcast on MBC Misr satellite channel, El-Ezaby added that this decision was issued by a department that is not responsible for the pharmacists sector, and therefore this decision is “illegal and baseless”, adding: “I do not know how this decision was issued!.”
“We will not close El-Ezaby pharmacies, we provide our services and continue to do so.” he confirmed
On the other hand, Executive Director of Roshdy Pharmacies, Dr. Saad Fathi, expressed his deep sorrow over what has been circulated about the closure of Roshdy Pharmacies following the decision issued by the Ministry of Health.
In a statement to El Hekaya program broadcast on MBC Misr satellite channel, Fathi said that the pharmacies are open, adding: “The decision is related to a pharmacist and not the pharmacies themselves.”
“The decision was issued against Dr. Hatem Roshdy and not against pharmacies,” Executive Director of Roshdy Pharmacies added pointing out that Dr. Hatem is just a member in the company that runs the pharmacies.”
