Synergy has renewed the TV series "El Ekhteyar" (The Choice) for a fourth season.
The upcoming season will feature a brand new cast who are expected to be announced in the coming days.
While the series is still in its early stages, the drama will chronicle major national events over the past few years.
Season one of “El Ekhteyar” (The Choice) debuted in Ramadan 2021 and focused on the life and martyrdom of Colonel Ahmed el-Mansy (Played by Amir Karara) and terrorist Hisham Ashmawy (Ahmed Elawady), a former fellow officer who became a terrorist.
El-Mansy was the commander of Sa’ka Forces (Thunderbolt Forces) battalion 103, who was martyred with several other members of his battalion on July 7th, 2017.
They were killed during clashes between Egyptian army forces and militants in a terror attack launched on an Egyptian armed forces checkpoint in El-Barth Village, Rafah, North Sinai.
The show spawned two seasons: "El Ekhteyar 2: Regal El Zel" and "El Ekhteyar 3: Al Qarar."
Season two, starring Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed El Sakka, Ahmed Ezz, and Ahmed Mekky, followed the Egyptian intelligence and national security personnel combating terrorism.
Meanwhile, the third season, starring Yasser Galal, Khaled El Sawy, Karim Abdel Aziz, and Sabry Fawaz, depicted the behind-the-scenes of the June 30 Revolution and the transgressions of the Muslim Brotherhood.
"El Ekhteyar" season 4 will debut during the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon.
