El-Ahly continued their display of beautiful football after handily defeated Sudanese side El-Helal (2-1) in a rather easy encounter at the Salam Stadium on Friday.

The Red giants scored both of their goals in the first half, where Hussein El-Shahat struck in the 17th minute and Ramadan Sobhy came to score in the 37th minute through a penalty.

El-Ahly rebounded from their disappointing defeat against Tunisian Esperance 1-0. The Red giants now raise their points tally to 3 points equal to El-Helal and Esperance.

The Red giants displayed great attacking advancements from the get go, scoring early on in the 17th minute after El-Shahat made good use of a cross Magdy Afsha.

Sobhy enforced El-Ahly's lead in the 37th minute, after Junior Ajaye was tackled inside the box winning a penalty for his team which was scored by the Egyptian Wonder Kid.

Afsha was about to enforce El-Ahly's lead in the 47th minute after firing a ball from outside the box, which barely missed the right post.

El-Helal scored a consolation goal in the 94th minute making use of a ball rebounded by Mohamed El-Shennawy.
