On Monday, Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, received Ahmed Nayef Rashid Saleh, the Ambassador of Iraq to Cairo, and the accompanying delegation at the ministry headquarters in Cairo.
During the meeting, they discussed ways aimed at enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries in the tourism and antiquities sectors.
The meeting was attended by Amr Abdullah, the General Supervisor of the International Relations and Agreements Department at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The Minister welcomed the Ambassador and his delegation, praising the close relations between Egypt and Iraq, which witness cooperation in many fields, especially in tourism and antiquities.
Dr. Ahmed Naif confirmed the historical relations between the two sister countries and conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities in the Republic of Iraq to the Minister.
During the meeting, indicators of tourist traffic from Iraq to Egypt were reviewed, in addition to discussing ways to increase this traffic, allowing Iraqi tourists to enjoy the diverse and unique tourist and archaeological features of Egypt.
Ways to develop the contractual framework between the two countries were also discussed in light of the memoranda of understanding in the field of tourism and antiquities.
