Egypt's Supply Ministry Says No Ration Cards to be Issued Henceforward

Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade confirmed that no new-borns will be added to the ration card.

Moselhi added on the sidelines of the press conference held today, Wednesday that no new ration cards will be issued, while the database of beneficiaries of support remains the same, pointing to the continuation of separation services and transfer from one governorate to another.

He pointed out that in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, cards will be issued to the first categories of citizens, which includes beneficiaries of social security, solidarity and dignity, orphans, porced women, minors and seasonal workers.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said: "We will not put a ration card for more than two people, for the primary registries, the new one, and in the future," adding that the government will stop issuing new ration cards for newlyweds.
