Egypt’s National Railway Authority continued its efforts on Saturday to support the “Voluntary Return” initiative for Sudanese nationals wishing to travel back to their homeland.
The authority announced the operation of the 35th dedicated train, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 33,516 passengers since the program began.
The initiative is part of Egypt’s broader stance in support of Sudan’s unity, stability, and the deep historical ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples.
According to the Railway Authority, today’s train departed on Saturday, 29 November 2025, with its arrival in Aswan scheduled for 11:40 p.m.
The return journey back toward the Sudanese border is set to depart Sunday at 11:30 a.m., in line with the regular timetable established for serving passengers enrolled in the program.
Egyptian officials have reiterated that the voluntary return service will continue as long as needed, ensuring safe and organized transport for Sudanese citizens amid ongoing regional challenges.
